Christmas Eve

As stressful as the holidays have been, Aurora let out a sigh. It was Christmas Eve. Thankfully, Kira and Danae were there helping her as much as possible. Squealing could be heard coming closer as Aurora put some ham in the oven. "Mommy! Mommy!" A sigh and a light laugh escaped her. She knew who the voices belonged to. As she stood up right, the door quickly opened. "Mommy!" Joel and Samuel almost screamed out together. Aurora couldn't help but roll her eyes playfully.

"Are you two causing a mess?"

"No," the boys said together, giggling.

She shook her head, wondering what she was going to do with them. "Joel... Sam... Did either of you get into your presents without talking to me or your father?"

"No," they said in unison.

"Does your father or grandparents need me?"

They looked at each other and shook their heads. She knelt down then.

"Then what is it?"

"Hugs!" they said, hugging her then.

She laughed, returning the hugs. She laughed, returning the hugs. They planted kisses on her cheeks while giggling. She picked them up as she stood. "I love you, mommy," they said.

"I love you too."

She carried them to where the others were. "Did you two go looking for mommy?" Joy asked as Aurora laughed. The boys quickly hugged her again before nodding. Joy shook her head with a smile. "Can you tell me how old you are?"

Joel thought for a bit before he held up two fingers. Samuel had his two fingers up a little sooner. They then reached for Joy. She took them as Aurora turned to look at Jacob. He kissed her forehead, and they smiled at each other. Jasmine was running with Rhysline.

"How many times do I have to tell you to stop running? We're not outside," Elizabeth said frustratedly. Aurora looked around, finding the duo quickly.

"She's right. Stop running, please," Aurora spoke up. Jasmine and Rhysline stopped running and apologized.

Elizabeth looked at Aurora and rolled her eyes, making Aurora giggled. Jacob smiled. "How are you feeling?" He asked.

She shrugged. "I'm all right so far. The nausea isn't as bad as it had been in the last two pregnancies." She kissed him then. When the kiss broke, Emiliano came up to them.

"The table has been set. Ashar has the gifts set up for the morning."

"Thank you, Emiliano."

A Chat with a sea faring Assassin (A draft)

"Come now," the man said. "You do realize who you are dealing with..."

Before he could finish his sentence, a fist came flying as it narrowly missed his face. He quickly kneed the assailant in the stomach, causing the assailant to fly back. "Where were we?" Javinch asked as he straightened up. "Ah, yes! Now I remember."

He turned his attention back to the young merchant. Not many people didn't know of or seen Javinch in the seaside town he was in. As he approached the merchant, "As I was trying to say." He paused as he turned to look at Kiya finishing a final blow to her opponent. "Do you realize who she is?"

The merchant stepped back, shaken. "I hadn't seen her before today. I... I didn't realize she was..."

"A Morta?" Javinch finished for the merchant. His eyes widened, realizing his mistake. "I should let her torture you. Seeing how it's your first offence, you will indulge her with some of your finest weapons."

"Of... Of course," the merchant stuttered in fear as Kiya walked over to them.

Striker rubbed his head against her leg. She scratched her canine companion behind his ears. The merchant went and got the weapons. "Dear, how do you like it here?" Javinch asked Kiya. She shrugged.

"It's okay. Different, but okay," she replied, unsure how else to communicate how she felt about this planet. And yet, he was one of the few she had met from this planet who didn't get nosey with her. Javinch didn't go any further. "The people can be just as..."

Before she could finish, he said, "pushy as those on Earth?"

She smirked for a fraction of a second. "What gave that away?" she joked.

He chuckled. "I'm sure you've figured it out." He grinned at her.

It was then that the merchant returned with the best weapons he had in stock. Kiya looked through them with some of the items reminding her of the items on Earth.

"Take as many as you want," the merchant said, getting on his knees and planting his face into the ground. Kiya looked at him curiously. This human wasn't quite like the ones she was used to. Not to say a few might do so. She picked up what looked similar to a knife.

"Close combat, I see," Javinch murmured to himself.

A draft for Ranier

“In light of all that has been said and shown, I grant this man custody of his younger brother. As court ordered, the plaintiffs must complete five hundred hours of community service.” Murmurs filled the room as both the defendants and plaintiffs stood in front of the judge made his ruling.

“You judge are a disgrace to your profession!” The voice could only belong to Mary. Ranier didn’t have to look back to know. He and Dante were thrilled on many levels. If it didn’t have to come to this, that would have been better. The elder brother looked over at the parents they once had lived with. It wasn’t the same anymore. As it would seem, their parents had gotten deeper into their beliefs.

~The next day~

Ranier was at his desk with King across from him. They were expecting someone, another cop from another town on the other side of the country. He was there to help on a case he had been involved in for the last ten years. “Where is this guy at?” King asked, his voice indicated that he was irritated.

“Irritated, are we?” a male voice replied. The voice belonged to one Braden Turner. Ranier laughed when King fell out of his chair. Sometimes, King was a hoot or easy to tease. “Is he always like this?”

“No, he’s not. You caught him off guard.” Ranier settled down after a bit.

Valentine's day (A draft)

The only day the two had found any time together lately was this particular day. Of course, their children were hiding out on them for whatever reason. A giggle here and there from Jasmine, but seemingly nothing more. If they had the chance, they all spent most of the day together as much as possible. Not that they were able to do so often, just whenever they could.

Today would be a mix of something. Both Aurora and Jacob knew the children had something in mind, but they didn't know what. The smile on Jacob's face made Aurora smile as well. To say in the very least, things would be pleasant.

Making her way to the kitchen, Aurora gasped at the sight. There was a bouquet of flowers (a combination of roses and tulips in the following colors: pink [roses], red [both], yellow [tulips] and white [tulips]), a box of chocolates, and a card. Well, that was just some of the things there. She turned to look at her husband before hugging him. She then went to open the card to read what was inside.

There were words, and here is what they said:

My love,

Romantic as today is supposed to be, every day with you are some of the best days of my life. I love you since the first day we met and haven't stopped since then. You aren't just the love of my life, you're my best friend...

Sincerely yours forever,

Jacob

A Halloween draft

Rain had began to fall harder than it had when it first started. There were two people running as they tried to find shelter. Every now and then, there was that booming sound from thunder and flashes from lightning.

"Over there! There's a mansion," one of the two people said loudly as they pointed in the direction of the mansion.

"Let's go and see if the owners will let us stay until the storm ends," the other person said after the thunder and lightning were through with their loud and quick show.

They hurried to the door. Before one of them could knock on the door, it creaked open. A hand appeared and waved them in. They looked at each other before going in.

"Hello?" The first one in called out. Her voice echoed a bit.

The interior of the place looked as if it had been vacant for quite some time. The floor creaked with just about every step. The railing for the stairs seemed to be broken in several places.

"Is there anyone who actually lives here?" The other person asked in a whisper to his friend. Before she could speak, hands rested on their shoulders suddenly. They jumped, turning around.

"I will show you to your rooms. My master has been expecting you," the butler said. As they're following the butler, she had suddenly clung to her male companion.

"I thought I saw something following us," she whispered to him.

"Maybe, it was your imagination. Some times, mother nature likes to play tricks on us," he said. She kept looking over her shoulder anyway.

The butler seemed a bit hard of hearing. Of course, they didn't know if he could or not. Then, the butler stopped.

"Here are your rooms. Please rest and I will let you know when the meal is ready. My master is anxious to meet you."

With that, the butler left as they went into their rooms. As they got cozy, the butler returned. He led them to the dining room. As soon as the master of the house came, she screamed in horror. The master was a walking corpse.

Her screams were muffled soon after by her companion. She turned to look at him, stunned. "D-Drew?" She stammered out.

He clearly wasn't acting like himself. And he looked like he had aged rapidly. "Yara, you should stay with us," Drew said.

She ran out, trying to find the exit. When she was almost to the doors, she suddenly fell through a whole in the floor. Screams filled the air for what seemed like an eternity.

"I may or may not have eaten all the cookies you made." Autumn/Halloween Writing Prompt

"Yes, I made them yesterday. I'll have them there as soon as I can," Aurora said over the phone she had made cookies for Joel and Sawyer's class. She wasn't quite sure how they managed to get in the same class together, seeing how they were twin brothers. Either way, the class was having a Halloween party at school.

As soon as she entered the kitchen, she frowned. She could have swore she had them all packaged and ready in little boxes for the kids. The box would allow the child to take some home for later if he or she wanted.

"Joel! Sawyer! Did either of you seen the cookies I made last night?" She asked.

When the twins came, they looked at each other nervously. Aurora crossed her arms, expecting some answers. Sawyer was the one who sighed.

"We were only going to eat a few, but they were so good that we ate about half," Sawyer admitted sheepishly. Aurora couldn't help but wonder what to do with these two.

"Did you see what happened to the rest?"

"Sawyer left the room before me," Joel admitted then. "Would have eaten more, but I couldn't do it. I saw Mac come in as I was leaving."

"You're going to help me make more right now. I will deal with whoever ate the rest later."

Destruction

Shouts erupted moments after the building shook a third time. People ran in all directions, causing chaos and confusion. Once… twice… three times an object falls rapidly from the sky with smoke trailing behind it. The force of the impact caused debris and people to fly in all directions.

“Where does it come from?”

“What is it?”

“Who is causing this?”

“Are the gods mad at us?”

That and more questions kept coming, but without answers. All of this seemed to occur suddenly. Once mother had her suspicions as she directed both her daughters into the lowest chamber level. It held the four stones; each a different color than the last. Red… Green… Blue… White… Each representing an element of nature. Fire… Wood… Water… Air…

“Mother!” Aeliana and Aphra pleaded as the doors began to close between them and Cyra.

“It is the only way I can protect you,” she called out to them. Then the doors were closed once again. Aprha began to cry then. She did not want to lose their mother, especially like this. Aeliana hugged her. It seemed like forever since they were locked inside the chamber. They knew it was the sacred chamber. Suddenly, the doors opened and… Justus was thrown inside followed by Cosmos. Both Aeliana and Aphra saw their father, Cassius. He looked displeased, but not unhappy. Almost like he didn’t exactly blame them in one way or another. The doors closed before Justus and Cosmos could reach it.

Another hit…

They could tell by the ceiling that it would not be much longer and the entire place would soon be gone. Cosmos was the first to notice the stones somehow floating towards them. As soon as he said something, the others took notice as well. The green headed in Aeliana’s direction. The red in Justus’ direction. The white in Aphra’s, and the blue in Cosmos’ direction.

It was almost as if the stones knew what was happening. But they couldn’t, could they? Each of them took the stones in hand, and they began to glow.

Go forth and escape. You will give your people the peace they deserve in time. All of them heard the voice. It was as if one of the gods was speaking to them.

Sometime later, they found their way from the rubble. Their home had been completely destroyed. Stumbling upon a boat that seemed to be spared of the attack, they got in quickly and paddled away quickly. As they did so, the entire city of Atlantis was engulfed by the surrounding water. And when they reached land, they got out. The boat seemingly went out to sea and began to sink.
