-----

The day had been long at work. Aurora had to work late at the restaurant. When she got home, Jasmine was already in bed. Stepping into the living room, she noticed a letter with no return address. The handwriting looked semi-familiar to her. Though she was dead tired, she picked up the letter and opened it. For some reason, it felt strange as if there was a spell on it. The letter read:

Aurora, we need to talk. In private, actually. Bring Lillian, too. Two weeks from when you read this. Don't tell your mother or she'll burn me to a crisp. Oh, and don't bring your little friends. The meeting place is your home you shared with Isis and I.

Your father.

As soon as she saw 'Your father,' she thought it would be a trap. The smug bastard. Nearly ripping the letter to shreds, she threw it up instead. She would have screamed if it wouldn't wake up Jasmine. Remembering Pam's temper when she was crossed, Aurora knew it would be a bad idea to inform the female devil. That much she and Douglass could agree on.

~The next morning.

Aurora was up a couple hours than she would have if she had to work. Telling Lillian about the letter, the twins were obviously unsure about the idea of meeting the man who made Aurora and Isis' lives a near living hell. As expected, Aurora was dead against it, but Lillian wasn't so suspicious. On one end, it gave Lillian a chance to meet the father she shared with Aurora and it would give Aurora a chance to confront him after all these years. On the other end, it brought back bad memories for Aurora.

This would be hard, mostly for Aurora. Lillian saw how much it was upsetting Aurora. After all, Douglass did kill Isis years ago. Eventually, everyone knew except for Pam. With a majority of everyone's votes being a no go, they had went to ask Ero and Drake for their thoughts on the matter.

~ Two weeks later

Aurora and Lillian had went alone. They were back in Minnetonka, Minnesota. The thing was, Aurora hated seeing the house again. Lillian took Aurora's hand in reassurance. The kinder sibling wanted to burn the house down and never return to the spot. They knew he was inside. They then started walking up the walkway.

Confrontation pt 2

Reaching the door, Aurora was visibly shaking. Lillian took notice and frowned. "We don't have to walk through that door if you don't want," she offered, placing a hand on Aurora's shoulder. Aurora knew she wouldn't go in alone. And that was reassuring. She shook her head. "No, let's get this done and over with." Taking a few deep breaths to calm down, Aurora reached for the doorknob with Lillian's hand on top of hers.

~ Two weeks earlier

Douglass had teleported out of Aurora's home after leaving the letter in the living room. He had been watching when everyone came and went. Making sure that Pam didn't know he had followed her to Aurora's place, his plan was sliding into place. No one seemed to be the wiser. A slight smuggish smile touched his lips. If Aurora knew what was up, she might never speak to him again. That thought made him frown. Sure, he did some things that scarred her. Actually, make that a lot. He then headed over to an old friend's remote home, one he never used. In the living room, there were pictures of Aurora, Lillian, and of course Pam since she got in the way at times. The twins' friends were also in the photos as well. Douglass sat down on the couch and picked up a picture of Aurora, Lillian, Donald, and Tiffany together.⁶

~Present

Sitting on a sheet-covered couch, Douglass watched the door. Would they come? What if they planned to come, but changed their minds? If so, he would come to them. He had looked away when he heard two voices at the door. It must be them. No one came to this particular house anymore and for good reason. He had made sure this place was haunted. The half god half wizard waved his hand and the door jerked out of Aurora's hand before she could do anything. Toying with his eldest daughter would be fun. Then again, Lillian might intervene and she might succeed.

Aurora was hesitant, but went first followed by Lillian. Once in the living room, Aurora kept her distance. Her eyes were hard as she glared at the man who gave her cause to not like him. Lillian was a different matter, despite her staying close to her sister.

"Ah Aurora, it is so good to see you," he said, a hint of smug in his voice. Aurora gave him a cold, hard look. She wasn't pleased about seeing her father again. Lillian just watched them, uncertain about intervening. The smug smile he had giving Aurora had vanish.

"Bite me, you bastard," Aurora muttered. She clearly regretted coming this soon. Though if he tried anything, she'd be ready. She had noticed the pictures on the table. She recognized the ones in the photos. "You... You took..." she didn't say anymore as she looked at the pictures then at him and back again. Lillian frowned. This didn't look good.

Confrontation pt 3

Douglass froze almost instantly as Aurora put together what he did. Now, all she had to do was figure out his motive. Was a part of him wanting to repair the strained relationship between them? It was possible. Lillian was a different story. He had no relationship with her.

"You followed us?" Aurora screeched. He should have anticipated such a reaction out of her. There were a few expensive and breakable items near Aurora and Lillian. Not good, not good for Douglass. Looks like he might face Aurora's wraith. Her temper was rarely shown. For good reasons, that is. "Does she know?" Aurora asked, obviously talking about Pam. He didn't answer her. He could feel her glaring at him. If Pam knew, she would have handed Douglass his rear end on a silver platter faster than Aurora could. Aurora seemed to be planning on storming out if there wasn't something else she could do. She picked up one of the vases and chucked it at him hard. He dodged, causing the vase to shatter against the wall behind him. He winced.

"Your mother doesn't know. Why cross her?" he murmured. She was still peeved. Lillian had moved to a corner to avoid her sister's wraith. Douglass stayed where he was. He didn't want Aurora to leave without him saying something to her, at least. He wasn't sure if he would be able to get it out at the pace they were going. Probably best to wait a while. Aurora reminded Douglass of Pam in a way. The temper when crossed, that is. He missed his wife. Before too long, Aurora was throwing energy balls at him. Lillian was laughing at how Douglass was reacting.

“Aurora...” he couldn't get another word out when she threw another one at him. “Please, wait.” He held his hands up as a sign of truce. She had another energy ball ready for when she needed it. Damn, she looked scary as hell. Thoughts of Pam entered his mind again. Now, what was he going to tell her? He couldn't very well apologize to Aurora for killing Isis. And what was the point in doing so? She wouldn't accept it and for good reason. He gulped, hoping she wouldn't throw another energy ball. Seeing her like this reminded him that she wasn't a little girl anymore. He had to remember that. And she was raised by another couple after being taken away from him. It made him realize how important his children were.

After taking another moment to remember what he was going to tell her, he kept his hands up, uncertain what she would do next. “Aurora, I know I should have apologized to you sooner, though I doubt it would do any good now. There's something I wanted to tell you and Lillian in private.” He didn't say anything for a bit longer.

Lillian raised an eyebrow. Aurora's eyes narrowed. "I..." Before she could continue, he had held up a finger to tell her to let him finish. She growled.

He waited longer before speaking again. "I just want to say I want to start anew with you. Wipe the slate clean, so to speak." Now to wait for her to do something.

She looked at him shocked. What the hell has gotten into him? That was not the man she remembered. "Who are you and what have you done with the bastard who claims to be my father?" she asked, unbelieving what just happened. Lillian snickered at Aurora's question. This was crazy. First Aurora was throwing stuff at him, now he was trying to win her over? Yep, crazy. Maybe crazier than some of the shit Aurora and Lillian went through together.
